Preparation time: 10 minutes
Total cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients for sesame pork:
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
3 tablespoons peanut oil
600 g (1 1/4lb) pork fillets, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
2 teaspoons cornflour
2 teaspoons sesame oil
8 spring onions, sliced on the diagonal
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 teaspoons finely grated fresh ginger
2 carrots, julienned
200 g (6 1/2 oz.) snake beans, cut into short lengths
Directions for sesame pork:
1. The first thing you should is preheat the oven to moderate 180°C (350°F/Gas 4). Then place the sesame seeds on an oven tray and bake for about 5 minutes or so.
2. The first step is heating the wok until it becomes hot, then add 1 tablespoon oil and swirl to coat. Add half the pork and stir-fry for about 3 minutes or so, or until browned. Remove and repeat with the remaining pork and then remove again.
3. In the first step combine the hoisin and the teriyaki sauces, the cornflour and add 1 tablespoon water and mix until smooth.
4. Then reheat the wok until it becomes hot, and then add the remaining peanut oil and the sesame oil and swirl to coat. Add the spring onion, the garlic and the ginger, and stir-fry for about 1 minute.
5 Add the carrot and the beans, and stir-fry for about 3 minutes or so, or until it will be almost cooked but still crunchy. Then return the pork to the wok, after that add the cornflour mixture and stir until the sauce boils and thickens. Then simmer until the meat is tender and the vegetables are just cooked. Toss through the sesame seeds and after that you can serve immediately.
